Mr. Rabenn has been successfully litigating cases in the Superior Courts of Orange and Los Angeles Counties since 1972. However, Mr. Rabenn believes that the courtroom is not the only place to resolve the complex and sensitive issues that are commonly found in family law matters. Recognizing that every client and case is different, Mr. Rabenn advocates the use of three alternative dispute resolution methods that most effectively address the needs of his individual clients.

Litigation:

Mr. Rabenn provides aggressive and responsive professional services for all stages of the litigation process. He understands that there are cases in which non-court alternatives simply will not work. Drawing on his extensive courtroom experience, Mr. Rabenn employs sophisticated strategies and technologies that have proven to obtain positive results for his clients.

Collaborative Divorce:

Mr. Rabenn is one of a select number of family law attorneys in Orange County who is certified to practice Collaborative Divorce. In a Collaborative Divorce case the spouses and their attorneys agree to resolve the family law matter without going to court, using a team that includes mental health professionals and financial specialists. The Collaborative Divorce process enables the divorcing couple to control the outcome of their case without subjecting their children to the trauma that is usually associated with cases that are decided by a judge.

Mediation:

In a mediation, the spouses agree to jointly retain the services of a neutral mediator, who assists them in negotiating a resolution of their case. When he is retained as a mediator, Mr. Rabenn will sit down with both spouses and assess the unique issues in their case. He then brings in other professionals who, like Mr. Rabenn, are trained in mediation techniques. As with Collaborative Divorce, mediation enables the couple to resolve their case without going to court.
